 The German C/O Junior initiative offers a special Design Workshop for children between 8 to 14 years to work out ideas to the Future Mobility Design Award. This could open our eyes also for the perspectives of very young mobility users. Mobilität der Zukunft. Womit werden wir uns fortbewegen? für Kinder zwischen 8 und 14 Jahren am 11. und 12. Februar 2006 von 11 bis 16.30 Uhr. In das Auto, die U-Bahn oder das Flugzeug einsteigen, „losdüsen“ und sich an einem anderen Ort wieder finden ist alltäglich und spart Zeit. Doch wie sieht das Fortbewegungsmittel der Zukunft aus? Womit fahren oder fliegen wir 2025 in die Schule oder zur Arbeit? Was ist bei der Entwicklung von Fortbewegungsmitteln zu beachten? Wie arbeiten dabei Wissenschaftler und Designer zusammen? Bei C/O Junior erhalten die Teilnehmer des Workshops Antworten auf diese Fragen. Unter fachkundiger Anleitung werden sie selbstständig Ideen entwickeln, die den Jahresanfang für C/O Junior 2006 bilden. Sie befassen sich mit Themengebieten wie Innovation, Effektivität und Design. Die Ideen der Teilnehmer werden diskutiert und in kleinen Modellen umgesetzt. Dabei lernen sie den genauen Prozess von einem Gedanken, über die Ausformulierung bis zum Entwurf eines Modells kennen. C/O Junior freut sich mit den Ergebnissen des Workshops am diesjährigen Design Award „Future Mobility“ teilnehmen zu können, der vom Baltic Design Transfer initiiert wurde. Zu diesem Zweck werden die einzelnen Ergebnisse des Workshops unter www.future-mobility.org präsentiert und stellen sich somit dem offenen Wettbewerb um den Design Award „Future Mobility“ C/O Junior ist ein Programm der C/O Berlin Patrons mit Freundlicher Unterstützung der Schering Stiftung und der Erfurt und Sohn KG. | 12/23/05 Bombardier Transportation Design Award - special prize for best train solution |
| Within the design competition a specific "Bombardier Train Design Award" has been established. This extra award is for the best proposed train design project. Prize: a paid trainee period (1-3 months) at the Bombardier design department in Västerås, Sweden. It offers the student the possibility to develop the proposed train design project in an authentic industrial design department. Bombardier has the rights to choose the final award winner and the one receiving the trainee period. |

| 12/07/05 Future Mobility Design Award has started now! |
| How will you be travelling to work in 20 years time? Baltic Design Transfer (BDT), a network for design and business in the Baltic Sea region is organizing a design competition – online – with the title Future Mobility. Purpose: to develop new ideas for transport of people and goods with the help of existing or with new techniques. It offers creative people a platform for discussion as well as an opportunity to evaluate the ideas submitted in terms of their relevance to the public. Participants: Students from design and technology, designers, engineers and other creative people are invited to develop future scenarios and product ideas. Time: December 8, 2005 – March 31, 2006 Public voting: The visualized ideas will be presented online for evaluation involving experts of the transport sector, designers and the design colleges in the Baltic Sea Region. Future concepts need to be visualized! Take part of the online-design competition now: > Have a look at the 100 theses, get inspired by new ideas. > Scetch, Draw, CAD, visualize your future mobility concept. Project results from your design school studies are also welcome! Teams can also participate. > Upload your work (jpg and short english text) until latest the 28. February 2006. > Candidates with the top five winning entries will receive the “Future Mobility Design Award 2006”. in a public ceremony.  |
